What to expect

Departure from Puerto Varas

Pickup of participants at Itata 1231, Puerto Varas, or their accommodation within the city. Private transfer to Hornopirén.

3 hours (includes a 45-minute ferry ride across the Reloncaví Estuary).
Start of the Ascent

The hike begins through thousand-year-old native forests, gaining gradual elevation.

3 hours.
Final Section and Summit Arrival

The last part of the ascent, passing through volcanic rock and seasonal snow, before reaching the Hornopirén Volcano summit (1,572 meters above sea level).

2 hours.
Rest at the Summit

Enjoy panoramic views of Lake Cabrera, Yates Volcano, and the Cholgo Channel. Time for hydration and photography.

30 minutes.
Descent to the Base

Return via the same route using controlled descent techniques over rock and snow.

Return to Puerto Varas

Ferry crossing over the Reloncaví Estuary, followed by private transfer back to Puerto Varas.
