The adventure begins in Puerto Varas, where we embark on a 3-hour journey along the Carretera Austral, including a 45-minute ferry ride across the Reloncaví Estuary to reach Hornopirén.The ascent starts with a challenging 5-hour hike, passing through dense native forests filled with thousand-year-old alerces, coigües, mañíos, and lengas. As we gain elevation, the landscape transitions to volcanic terrain, with occasional snow depending on the season.At the summit (1,572 meters above sea level), you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of Lake Cabrera, Yates Volcano, Apagado Volcano, and the majestic Andes mountain range. After taking time to rest and soak in the scenery, we begin our descent along the same route, concluding the journey with a return to Puerto Varas, crossing the Reloncaví Estuary by ferry once more.This demanding trek is perfect for experienced hikers and adventure seekers looking for an unforgettable high-altitude experience in Chilean Patagonia.
