What to expect

Pickup and Transfer to Conguillío National Park

Transfer from Temuco to the Los Paraguas sector, the starting point of the ascent.

Arrival at Nevados de Vilcún

Distribution of technical equipment and safety briefing before beginning the trek.

30 minutes
Ascent to Cerro La Cruz

First stop for hydration and adjusting clothing, with panoramic views of the valley and surrounding peaks.

Crossing the Plateau

Walking across a false flat terrain leading to the main body of the volcano.

2 hours
Approaching the Base and Using Technical Equipment

Instruction and practice on the use of crampons, ice axe, and helmet on the snow.

2 hours
Ascent to the Volcano’s Main Body

Ice axe self-arrest practice and climb up the western face of the volcano, with slopes up to 45°.

Llaima Volcano Summit

Time to rest, take photos, and enjoy a snack while admiring the breathtaking view.

Descent and Return to Nevados de Vilcún

Return following the same route, with strategic breaks for recovery.

Transfer Back to Temuco

Return trip to the original meeting point.
