What to expect

Presentation:

Passengers should arrive at the local tour operator's sales office by 9:15 a.m. Location: Atamu Tekena s/n, downtown Hanga Roa.

Ahu Akahanga:

Visit to an archaeological site with toppled moai that tells the story of tribal wars and offers a glimpse into ancient Rapa Nui life.

40 minutes
Rano Raraku:

Exploration of the volcanic quarry where most moai were sculpted. This site preserves many incomplete statues, providing a unique insight into the creation process of these iconic monuments.

Ahu Tongariki:

Visit to the largest and most restored ahu on the island, with 15 aligned moai. It’s an impressive symbol of Rapa Nui culture and one of the island's main archaeological attractions.

Lunch Break:

Return to town for lunch. Passengers can dine at the tour operator's facilities or purchase food at nearby shops. Restrooms available.

Resuming the Tour:

Continuing the tour after lunch.

Te Pito Kura:

Visit to an archaeological site known for housing the largest moai ever erected on the island, called Paro. The site also features a spherical stone believed to have spiritual properties and considered the "navel of the world" in Rapa Nui tradition.

Enjoy this historic beach with white sand and turquoise waters, known as the landing site of the first Polynesian settlers. The visit also includes the Ahu Nau Nau, with several restored moai.

Return to Hanga Roa:
