We'll begin an exciting hike that starts at Carilafquén Lagoon, located at the base of Sollipulli Volcano. Along the way, you'll pass the majestic Salto del León and venture into forests of ancient Ñires and Coihues, where you can observe an impressive variety of native flora.In these forests, you'll be amazed by the grandeur of the ancient Coihues, and the Ñires, with their distinctive leaves, offering a spectacular visual contrast. The local wildlife includes species such as the Andean Condor soaring above the peaks and the Puma, which may leave tracks on the ground. It’s not uncommon to spot the Chucao, a small and enigmatic bird that inhabits the dense vegetation.Along the way, we will discover an abandoned historic locomotive, used for Araucaria logging until the 1980s when the area was protected. As we ascend, we will encounter crystal-clear water streams surrounded by lush vegetation, including wildflowers and mosses, creating a vibrant and fascinating natural environment.Finally, our campsite for the night is strategically located at 1600 meters above sea level between sandy areas and the edge of the Araucaria Forest. Here, we will be surrounded by the iconic Araucaria, known for its unique structure and spiral-shaped leaves. The campsite will be sheltered from the wind and just a few meters from a clear stream, where we can replenish our water supply while enjoying the serenity of the region and the surrounding natural environment.

Pucón y Villarrica 

Starting point at the base of Sollipulli Volcano. Receive a technical briefing before beginning the ascent.

Start of the trek at Carilafquén Lagoon:

Discover the majesty of the Salto del León, surrounded by untouched nature.

Exploration of Salto del León:

A walk through ancient Coihue and Ñire forests, with the possibility of spotting local wildlife such as the Andean Condor and Puma.

Walk through the forests of Coihues and Ñires:

Set up camp at 1600 meters above sea level, among Araucaria forests and volcanic sands. Duration: 1 hour

Arrival at the campsite:

Enjoy dinner under the stars while learning about the flora, fauna, and geography of the area. Duration: 1 hour

Dinner and technical briefing:

Start the day with a spectacular sunrise, surrounded by Araucarias and views of the Llaima, Sierra Nevada, and Lonquimay volcanoes.

Day 2: Breakfast at sunrise:

Preparing and packing up the camp before the descent.

Dismantling the camp:

During the descent, visit an old locomotive and enjoy the vegetation and water streams along the way.

Descent with a visit to the abandoned locomotive:

End of the trek with arrival at the lodge.
