Our adventure begins with a transfer from Caldera, heading toward the Salt Route, a journey that takes us back in time to Atacama’s ancient traditions.Our first stop will be the salt pools, owned by the Aravena family, which played a crucial role in regional history by preserving food for miners and workers. These natural formations were essential for the connection between the coast and the inland areas of Atacama.We will then visit the Salt House, a one-of-a-kind structure carved into a stratified marine rock wall. Inside, the “furniture” is sculpted directly into the stone, making it a remarkable example of 19th-century local architecture, inhabited until the early 20th century.To conclude our journey, we will head to Quebrada Las Higueras, where we will find the majestic Salt Pyramids, a natural formation that has withstood the test of time and is now considered a natural heritage site of Caldera. This location, perfect for photography and meditation, will allow us to contemplate the beauty of the Atacama Desert before returning to Caldera.
