Our adventure begins with the transfer from Caldera, crossing ancient landscapes that link the coast with the desert’s interior. The first stop takes us to the Salt Pools, owned by the Aravena family —a living testimony of the region’s heritage. For centuries, these pools were used to preserve food for mine workers, playing a vital role in Atacama’s historical trade and sustenance.We’ll then visit the Salt House, a remarkable structure carved directly into a wall of marine-origin stratified rock. Inside, every element —from furniture to shelves— was sculpted into the stone itself, showcasing the creativity and resilience of the 19th-century inhabitants who lived here until the early 20th century.Finally, we’ll head to Las Higueras Ravine, home to the breathtaking Salt Pyramids —majestic natural formations that have withstood the test of time. Recognized as a natural heritage site of Caldera, this area invites visitors to reflect, take photographs, and immerse themselves in the serene beauty of the Atacama Desert.
