This medium-difficulty adventure takes you through landscapes that tell stories of ancient glaciers and timber trails. It begins with the thrilling crossing of the Punta Negra River, fed by the Sierra Nevada Volcano glacier. Though its cold waters may surprise you, the crossing is simple and safe.The trail continues through a private field with transit authorization, a peaceful corner that once served as a route for native timber extraction. Along the way, we’ll marvel at the Punta Negra Waterfall, an impressive cascade filled with energy and beauty.The journey passes through native forests, where araucarias dominate the scenery. We’ll cross crystal-clear streams and open plains that reveal the effects of glacial retreat. Finally, we’ll reach Laguna Espejo, located at the foot of the glacier, where the surroundings invite you to rest, enjoy the mountain's peace, and explore the area before beginning our return.

We begin the experience with a comfortable transfer from your accommodation in Malalcahuello to the starting point of the trekking activity.
