What to expect
We begin the transfer from San Pedro de Atacama to Yerbas Buenas, traveling 45 km towards Calama before taking a detour north. Our first stop will be in the Yerbas Buenas area, where we will take a walking tour to admire the petroglyphs, rock carvings made by the inhabitants of the Salar de Atacama Basin approximately 3,000 years ago.
1 hour.We continue our journey to the town of Matancilla, following a road that leads us to this area of valleys surrounded by stunning multicolored hills. The slopes of the Domeyko Mountain Range are painted in shades of gray, green, red, and orange, creating a spectacular landscape.
1 hour.We explore the valleys, either by car or on foot, to experience a completely different landscape from what is seen near San Pedro de Atacama. The colors and serenity of the place offer a unique desert experience.
