In this journey, we head towards Cerro Leonera, located in the Andes, just a few hours away from the heart of Santiago. Access to this impressive peak is fairly straightforward, and the journey from the city to the mountain’s base is an adventure in itself, offering a different perspective of the capital.The trail takes us through rugged mountainous landscapes, passing by Laguna Piquenes and the Cerro Pintor refuge. There, at over 4000 meters of altitude, we set up our camp, with panoramic views of Santiago on one side and the towering Andes peaks on the other.
