What to expect
Day 1 - Transfer to El Cabrerío and ascent to Refugio Plantat:
Departure from Santiago to El Cabrerío. Begin trekking to Refugio Plantat (3130 masl).
6 hours.Day 2 - Ascent to Camp 1 (Las Lajas):
Ascent from Refugio Plantat to Camp 1 in Las Lajas (3800 masl).
5 hours.Day 3 - Summit of Volcán San José:
Ascent to the summit of Volcán San José (5856 masl) and return to Camp 2.
10 hours.Day 4 - Descent and return to Santiago:
Pack up camp and head back to Santiago.
