The Tatio Geysers, whose name comes from the Kunza word "tata-iu", meaning "the grandfather who cries", are one of the highest geothermal fields in the world, located in the Andes mountain range northeast of San Pedro de Atacama. This incredible field is the largest in the Southern Hemisphere and the third largest in the world, after Yellowstone (USA) and Dolina Giezerow (Russia).The experience begins at sunrise, when temperatures are extremely low, and columns of steam rise intensely from the ground, reaching temperatures of up to 85°C (185°F). This phenomenon creates an unparalleled visual spectacle, where steam and the dawn’s colors intertwine in a magical dance.On our return journey, we will admire native wildlife, including species such as vicuñas, llamas, rheas, and vizcachas, and the characteristic flora of the highlands, featuring giant cacti, llaretas, and coirones.We’ll stop at the picturesque village of Machuca, a small ancestral settlement where its few inhabitants are mainly dedicated to herding and cheese production. From a viewpoint, you’ll be able to admire this charming village, a place seemingly frozen in time.Nearby, we’ll visit the Salty Lagoon, home to flamingos, ducks, and seagulls, framed by an impressive landscape where the blue sky contrasts with the whitish hues of the salt-rich water.A unique experience that combines geology, biodiversity, and local culture in one of Chile's most awe-inspiring settings.

We start the experience with a comfortable transfer from your accommodation in San Pedro de Atacama, ensuring a punctual start to this unique adventure.

Guided tour of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes through the geothermal field. We will walk slowly on flat and humid terrain while the guide shares explanations about the natural phenomena and the geological significance of this tourist site.
