We will begin our experience with a visit to the Gallery-Museum of the University of Antofagasta (available Monday to Friday) to learn about the historical context of the region. Then, we will transfer to Morro Moreno National Park, where we will start a trek of approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes along the slopes of Morro Moreno hill.Our route will take us to the Aguada de Morro Moreno, a key site in the history of the first inhabitants of the Atacama Desert coast and the explorers who arrived in these lands. Here, we will observe remnants of Chango settlements and understand their relationship with the environment.This 6.5 km trek combines nature, history, and archaeology in a stunning landscape, offering panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and the arid northern Chilean coast.
