We depart from Antofagasta and drive south for approximately 2 hours until we reach the starting point of the trek at 2,000 meters above sea level. From here, we begin our descent through Quebrada El Médano, a 3 km route where we will discover pictographs dating back over 7,000 years, created by the Changos, the ancient coastal inhabitants of the Atacama Desert.As we advance, we will observe rock engravings depicting whale hunting on rafts, fish, turtles, and guanacos, left by this nomadic civilization. Upon reaching 1,500 meters, we will take a break to recover and enjoy the surroundings before starting our ascent back to the vehicle.This trekking experience is a perfect combination of adventure, archaeology, and nature, ideal for those seeking to explore the ancestral history of the Atacama Desert through a challenging yet rewarding journey in a remote and awe-inspiring landscape.

7:00 - Departure from Estadio Regional Parking Lot / Hotel

7:30 - Transfer to the trekking starting point

9:30 - Arrival at Quebrada El Médano

Hike down while observing ancient pictographs along the way.

10:00 - Start of the trek (descending from 2,000 meters)

12:00 - Arrival at 1,500 meters (rest stop)

12:30 - Start of the ascent back to the vehicle

Rest and snack before heading back to Antofagasta.

14:30 - Arrival at the vehicle and snack

15:00 - Return to Antofagasta

End of the experience and return to the meeting point.

17:00 - Arrival in Antofagasta
