At 8:00 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in Putre and travel to the surroundings of the Taapaca Volcano. From here, we will start our expedition to the base camp at 5,300 meters above sea level, and later ascend to the summit at 5,860 meters.
30 minutesBegin the trekking journey to the base camp (CB) at 5,300 meters above sea level. The route covers 9 kilometers with an elevation gain of 700 meters, taking around 6-8 hours to complete. This is a medium-high difficulty hike, perfect for experienced trekkers.
6-8 hoursAfter reaching the base camp, settle in at 5,300 meters for the night, surrounded by stunning volcanic landscapes. The altitude will provide spectacular views of the surrounding Andes.
OvernightThe next day, embark on a challenging ascent to the summit of the Taapacá Volcano, located at 5,860 meters above sea level. This hike covers a distance of 8 kilometers, with a 560-meter elevation gain. The climb will take 5-7 hours.
5-7 hoursAfter reaching the summit, descend and return to Putre, where the expedition concludes.
